Welcome to Sweet Neo-Con

I would like to start my experience as a blogger by saying Hello to everyone. I am a 29 year old Conservative Republican living in California's Central Valley. I work for a large corporation as a Low level electrician. I am married to a wonderful wife and I have 2 beautiful daughters (Sam, Torey and Carys, respectively). I grew up in Southern California and moved to the Central Valley in my teens. I was a decent high school student and lived in a rather rural area, I was in the 4H. I joined the Army 6 days after my graduation from high school at the age of 17. I did my basic military training and specialty training at Fort McClellan Alabama as MOS 95B (Military Police). I served in several of the hotbox conflicts of the 90' under President Clinton ( Panama, Haiti, Bosnia-Herzogovina). I was rather unimpressed with politics in my early 20's and never even registered to vote. I was to busy doing the things that 20 something year old men in the Armed forces do, Chase women, drink alcohol and try to stay alive in some pretty tight situations, I never saw actual combat though (although I was close). After leaving the Army in 1997 I returned to the central valley. I had previously worked as a rig hand in the oil fields but did not wish to return to that lifestyle, as it has an ability to make a man old before his time. I lucked into a position as a Loss prevention agent for a major deparmtent store chain and that became my trade for the next 4 years. I worked for several companies as a shoplift catcher while trying to get on with local law enforcement or state corrections, sadly I did not make either. I lived from paycheck to paycheck during this time, I lived in a mobile home park in a 12,000 dollar mobile home I had bought and scraped by barely, I even took a paperroute with the local paper to make ends meet. I partied and lived a pretty crazy life during this time. I then had a huge break, I was hired by a major electronics retailer for a management position in Richmond , Virginia with all moving expenses paid, I took the position. This was a hard period fro me being in a state where I knew no one and being all alone, I was a recluse for the 6 monts I lived there. The company then asked me to return to california and put me at the disposal of the Regional Manager out here, I lived in a hotel in San Francisco for almost 2 months before they finally moved me out here for good. It was during this time frame that I had the greatest moment in my life. While sitting at a crappy bar a dark haired Beauty named Samantha Roberts walked into my life. It is one of 2 defining moments in my life (the other being the birth of my little angel Carys). I was at a very self destructive point in my life when I met Samantha. To this day I think I would have been dead before 30 had I not met her (melodramatic, I know, but I feel it to be true). I knew Samantha for 3 weeks when I proposed to her and we were married four months later. We are now heading towards 5 years of marriage and we have 2 beautiful daughters together. Two things conspired in my life to awaken me at this point to the necessity of being politically informed. Number one was the 2000 election, its the first time I had really seen the enemy (IE: liberal left wing democratic wieners) show just how truly destructive and bi-partisan they can be. Number two was meeting my new mother and father in law, Lonnie and Brook. Now to be fair I have always had conservative leanings, Lonnie and Brook just gave me an outlet to discuss it for the first time in my life. We see eye to eye on almost everything (except for maybe the Terri Schiavo case....sorry mom). Since I have met Brook and Lonnie they have gone out of their way to make me a part of the family and I love them both very much. They are truly what parents should be. They offer guidance and correction in equal parts when it is needed. I have since lost my biological father to cancer and Lonnie has filled the role for me. Suffice to say I have the coolest inlaws on the face of the planet, if you need more proof just be advised, they play video games :)
As the Led Zeppelin song says "Ramble On" looking back it appears thats what I have done. I have taken the name of this blog from a recently released Rolling Stones song, and before I get everyone yelling at me, yes I realize it is a derogatroy song about ne0-conservatism. I have adopted the name for this blog and I stick my toungue out and wag it profusely at Mick Jagger (Not Keith though, he demanded the song be removed from the tour song list, hes a good american). I am PROUD to be a New Conservative. I know it was coined as a derogatory term, but I dont see it as such.
That being said, I look forward to posting my thoughts and I also look forward to any feedback, from either side, If I can make one Lib see the error of their ways then I have accomplished my mission.

Take Care and stay right
